New paper, metallic melt trapping in the Martian mantle

New research published in Earth and Planetary Science Letters where Kyusei, along with Daman, Varun, and colleagues, found experimental evidence that metallic melt can be trapped in the deep Martian mantle, implying inefficient melt segregation and the retention of highly siderophile elements.

New paper, a new method for coupled C-Mg-Ca isotopes in carbonates using SIMS

New research published in the Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry where Surjyendu, along with Daman and colleagues, developed a method for accurate in situ carbon, magnesium, and calcium isotope analysis of carbonates using secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS). New paper, percolative core formation in planetesimals

New research published in Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta where Varun, along with Daman, Kyusei, and colleagues, used high-pressure experiments on melt migration through olivine aggregates to test how metallic cores segregate by percolation in oxidized planetesimals. Congrats on your first lead-author paper, Varun!

New paper, volatile-element isotopes in Oued Chebeika 002

New research published in Geochemical Perspectives Letters where Daman and colleagues measured potassium, rubidium, germanium, and copper isotopes in the meteorite Oued Chebeika 002, comparing them with CI chondrites and the asteroids Ryugu and Bennu to trace how volatile elements were distributed among the Solar System’s most primitive material.
